7 Steps for the Perfect Brows & Lashes

Regardless of our age, we can all feel a bit shaky doing eyebrow or eyelash tinting—especially the first time. And with today’s trends, many people want a clean, professional look that lasts without daily makeup.

Brow & lash tinting is the process of temporarily dyeing brows and/or lashes to create a fuller look that can last for weeks. In this guide we’ll use Berrywell Augenblick (made in Germany) and we recommend it for lasting results (up to 6 weeks).

Step 1: Remove Your Makeup

Never start tinting while still wearing makeup. Wash your face first, then lightly brush through your brows to ensure there’s no dirt or residue.

We recommend shaping your eyebrows before the tinting procedure.

Step 2: Select Your Color

Choose the shade that best matches your brows (or your client’s). Berrywell offers multiple tint shades.

Step 2: Select your Berrywell tint color

Step 3: Prepare the Mixture

Pour your chosen tint into a glass mixing dish, then add the 3% cream developer. We recommend a 50/50 ratio (equal parts).

Mix well using a tinting brush until fully blended.

Step 4: Apply Vaseline Around Your Eyebrows

Apply petroleum jelly around your cleaned eyebrows to help prevent irritation and reduce staining risk. This step is optional for some, but it’s a great safety move—especially for sensitive skin.

Step 5: Gently Apply the Mixture

Apply the mixture to brows or lashes using a brow & lash tinting brush. Mascara wands work great for lashes, and tinting brushes are great for brows.

Do not forget this! Place eye pads under the lashes when tinting. We carry: Sticky eye pads and Non-sticky eye pads. If staining happens, use a wet cotton ball to wipe it off.

Step 6: Wait!

Once applied, wait about 8–10 minutes and let it develop.

Step 7: Clean Your Brows and Lashes

After 8–10 minutes, dampen a cotton pad and gently clean brows/lashes. You may wash your face to remove any residue. If the tint looks too light, you can repeat the process for a darker result.

Tint can last up to 6 weeks (varies by person). Refresh as needed when it starts fading.

Do I need to mix the dye with a developer?

Yes. Mix the dye with developer at a 50/50 ratio (equal parts) for it to work properly.

How long do I leave it on before I wash?

Typically between 8–12 minutes, But if you've had eyebrow lamination or a lash lift, it's recommended to wait no more than 4 minutes.

Where is it manufactured?

Berrywell Augenblick is manufactured in Germany.

What colors are available?

What do I need to get started?

The essentials are your chosen tint color + 3% developer (you’ll mix them together). Then you can add a tinting brush and glass mixing dish. If you tint lashes, under-eye pads help keep the process cleaner and safer.

Can I mix 2 colors together?

Yes—just keep proportions correct. Example: 25% dark brown + 25% light brown + 50% developer.

Can I use a different developer from another brand?

As long as it’s 3%–5% you’re generally fine—not more (the eye area is very sensitive). For best results, use the Berrywell 3% developer.

How many applications are in each tube?

About 55 applications—often enough for 1–2 years depending on use.
