RefectoCil Eyebrow & Eyelash Tint Instructions (How to Use)
A step-by-step guide for esthetic students and licensed beauty professionals using RefectoCil tint products.
What is brow & lash tinting?
Brow and lash tinting is a professional service that enhances the appearance of eyebrows and eyelashes by adding temporary color. The goal is a fuller, more defined look with reduced daily makeup needs.
For this tutorial, we’ll use RefectoCil, a professional tint brand manufactured in Austria.
Tools & materials you’ll want ready
- RefectoCil tint shade (choose based on desired result)
- RefectoCil 3% Oxidant (developer) — cream or liquid
- Glass mixing dish
- Tint brush and/or mascara wands
- Under-eye pads (recommended for lash tinting)
- Cotton pads + water for removal
Step 1: Clean the brows and lashes
Remove makeup, oils, and residue from the brow/lash area. Clean hair helps the tint apply evenly and last longer.
Pro tip: Many professionals prefer shaping the brows before tinting.
Step 2: Choose the shade
Match the shade to the client’s hair tone and desired intensity. Use a professional consultation and color chart to guide your choice.
Tip: When in doubt, go softer first—you can always deepen on a second session.
Step 3: Mix tint + developer (1:1 ratio)
In a glass mixing dish, combine tint and RefectoCil 3% oxidant in equal parts (50/50). Mix until smooth.
Use a tint brush for clean, controlled application.
Step 4: Protect the surrounding skin
Apply a thin barrier of petroleum jelly around the brows to reduce staining and irritation risk. For lash tinting, place under-eye pads to protect the skin beneath the lashes.
Step 5: Apply the tint evenly
Apply the mixture carefully to brows and/or lashes. For brows, a tint brush gives precision. For lashes, mascara wands can help with controlled placement.
Safety reminder: Avoid direct contact with eyes.
Step 6: Allow processing time
Let the tint process for approximately 8–10 minutes, or according to manufacturer guidelines. (Processing time may vary by hair type and desired intensity.)
Step 7: Remove the tint
Remove tint gently using damp cotton pads. Ensure all product is removed. If results are lighter than desired, you may repeat the procedure carefully after full removal.
DONE!
